Graceland Cemetery

For anyone wondering which cemetery I photographed in my post about Emily Dickinson’s “Safe in their alabaster chambers,” it was Graceland Cemetery. At the time, I had no idea how significant that was; Graceland Cemetery sleeps many of Chicago’s rich & famous bodies. All that much more appropriate, I suppose.

Diadems drop and Doges surrender,
Soundless as dots on a disk of snow.
